CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

SC Nurse will be responsible to assist medical doctors in provision quality Primary Health Care services to clinic’s clients of all ages, genders, and nationalities. This may include screening children and mothers for malnutrition, provision of therapeutic feeds, routine and specialized medicines, health and nutrition counselling, updating patient records, assisting doctors explaining medical procedures, and reporting related clinical matters as required.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • The Nurse will function as a member of SC team, assisting in the provision of medical services.
  • Responsible for provision of medical care to pregnant and lactating women.
  • Ensure the referrals to EPI centre in order to improve the immunization rate among children under 01 year of age.
  • Assist doctor in filling  standard patient record card for each patient visit
  • Maintain examination room in order an ensure full supply needed for services provision
  • Perform medical procedure according to doctor prescription: dressing, injection, nebulizer, etc.
  • Ensure proper and accurate documentation including admissions, discharge, referrals etc.
  • Ensure adequate availability of medicines and nutritional supplies at the PHC level.
  • Preparation and maintenance of medicines and nutrition supplies consumption reports.
  • Ensure effective counselling of mothers for prevention of malnutrition and promotion of breast feeding practices.
  • Preparation of monthly HIS reports under the supervision of medical doctors.
  • Any other duty assigned by the supervisor/line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • BSc/College Diploma in Nursing and/or other health related fields

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Trained Nurse/LHV/Midwife from a recognized Institution
  • Technical competence in dealing with first care during the complications
  • Preferably Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in CMAM program/SC.
  • Fluency in Urdu
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation, and maturity
  • Flexible to work in all (03) shifts (Morning/Evening/Night)
