CHILD SAFEGUARDING: 

The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:  

The Programme Operations intern will be responsible for coordinating activities within the programmes team, linking up project leads, advocacy, research, innovation and MEAL. Based on guidance from the Programmes Operations Team, the position will also support on developing project documents. This will include donor focused draft reports, budgets, and work plans. Additionally the intern will work closely with the Education, and CP & CRG team to consolidate and review internal and external reports, provide support in implementation of ongoing projects, record keeping and coordinating meetings.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Director Programme Operations

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Support in Planning, Implementation and Reporting:

  • Preparing presentations & doing groundwork for staff meetings and donor visits.
  • Correspondence with partners/donors/staff on behalf of the Advisor Programs
  • Assist in the editing and compilation of program progress reports and deliverables to ensure their timely submission to donors;
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy project files;
  • Coordinate with project teams to maintain timelines of program deliverables in cooperation with project leads and Director Programme Operations;
  • Coordinate logistics and administrative arrangements for project meetings, workshops, as needed;
  • Support administrative backstopping to SC projects in Pakistan;

 

Humanitarian and Emergency Preparedness

  • Support Save the Children’s humanitarian response and recovery program; advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness and prevention; and facilitate sustainable solutions.
  • Provide assistance with the preparation of various written documents, e.g., studies on humanitarian, disaster, emergency relief and policy guidelines/briefs
  • Assist in the maintenance of reference/ resource information on specific topics or policy-related issues;

Support in Education, Children Participation & Child Rights Programmes

  • Include SC approach to child participation in all CP/CRG work, wherever practicable, and seek to develop and incorporate child-friendly methodologies to promote child participation in CP/CRG & Education programme implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS 

A fresh Graduate of recognized national or International university 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Proficient in report writing and documentation.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb coordination skills. .
  • Be organized and meet timelines.
  • Ability to take initiatives, ability to prioritize and remain organized.
