Jhpiego is an international non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University, USA dedicated to improving the health of women and families in developing countries seeks Human Resources Assistant, who will work under the supervision of Human Resource Manager to provide effective delivery of HR services. Specific responsibilities include;

  • Provide assistance in the recruitment process including review of job descriptions, advertisements, screening of applications, interview and selection process and reference checks  
  • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees, ensure the files are complete and all required documentation is maintained in a confidential and secure manner
  • Coordinate on-boarding (orientation) of new staff with other departments to support the learning process of new employees and follow-up with new staff to ensure adaptation and identify problem areas 
  • Responsible for processing and maintaining staff insurance claims and all other insurance records 
  • Ensure all staff information are properly uploaded in HRIS system and all employee changes have been properly submitted and approved 
  • Provide backstopping support to staff on Jhpiego Enterprise Management System including; updating staff records, timely approval of staff leaves and timely submission of monthly timesheets 
  • Manage staff attendance and ensure that staff profiles are created and entered in attendance management system in a timely manner 
  • Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR department.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and engagement activities
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practice.
  • Any other task assigned by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills; 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources development. Master’s degree will be preferred  
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience  
  • Effective HR administration and people management skills.
  • Good command on Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook PowerPoint and Viso. 
  • Proactive and have a positive attitude to work
  • Ability to communicate effectively instilling trust and confidence
  • Good organizational skills including the ability to handle a variety of assignments
  • Be of high integrity Proven ability to handle confidential information;
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in writing and speaking English
