Roles and Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the Manager Exploration (Geophysics) are to lead, manage various aspects of the Exploration Department, set goals, objectives and meet deadlines of work programs as regards to various Blocks, provide support in planning and overall G&G strategy of the Company. The role also requires giving technical inputs for prospective farm-ins, farm-outs, acquisitions and divestitures of assets/shares.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:                      

  • Advise on all technical issues related to exploration activities.
  • Manage and coordinate technical work programs of Joint Venture Operating companies related to seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation/prospect generation.
  • Designing, supervision and execution of seismic acquisition, processing, interpretation, and prospect generation projects.
  • Risk management plan and recommend participation of Company in exploration ventures in promising areas.
  • Recommend Farm-in strategy and manage data reviews in new exploration and development ventures.
  • Develop dynamic exploration and production team and guide/supervise their work.
  • Represent Company and participate in the Technical/ Operating/Management Committee meetings and technical workshops.
  • Mentor junior members of the team; proactive engagement with the prospect generators through technical peer assists; knowledge transfer to the teams involved in various exploration activities and present projects’ findings to the senior management.

Qualification:

MSc/MS/BSc (Hons) Geophysics

Post qualification relevant experience:

  • 20 years’ experience in oil and gas exploration ventures with at least five years at senior management level and proven track record of oil & gas discoveries achieved;
  • With good understanding of E&P sub-surface and surface issues
  • Solid understanding of applicable regulatory regime of upstream sector
  • Designing, supervision and execution of seismic acquisition, processing, interpretation, and prospect generation projects.
  • Full command in using all relevant Geophysical software used in the international oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of economics and understanding of reserve estimations and uncertainties
  • Ensure effective and robust analysis with regards to due diligence compliance during acquisition and merger strategies Experience in due diligence, farm-ins, farm-outs, acquisitions and divestitures of assets/shares.
