Job Description - Trainer (TEACH Project)

 Job Purpose:

The Trainer under the supervision of Project Manager TEACH provides support in developing scripted sessions for Continous Professional Development (CPD), delivers online trainings via WhatsApp/Skype to provide ongoing support to the Facilitators of ALP and BLN Centers, assesses teachers’ progress and maintain CPD database.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The consultant will work closely with the Curriculum and Training Departments:
Training and Development: 

  • Develop scripted sessions for CPD of ALP and BLN tutors/facilitators
  • Provide CPD Training (WhatsAPP/Skype) to 540 tutors/facilitators of ALP and BLN centers on the developed content.
  • Ensure quality of training is maintained as per DIL standards.Monitoring and Post Training:
  • Measuring the progress of the learners by using a variety of assessment and follow up methods before, during and after training.
  • Creating systems for resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner while making adjustments as needed.
  • Reporting on required formats as per required frequency.

 Education, qualification, skills and experience:

  • Masters Degree from a recognized University in Education, Teacher Education.
  • 2 - 3 years experience with at least 2 years in Educational/Development Sector specifically in Teacher Training.
  • Good command on MS office; Word, Excel, Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to use technology to facilitate distance learning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Has the ability to prepare draft of reports or collect the data for the required reports.

Subject Specific Skills:

  • Content Knowledge

Strong knowledge of and well versed with teaching methodology. .

  • National Standards for ALP

Familiarity with National targets for specific subject at the primary and secondary level 

  • Interactive Communicative Teaching

Knowledge of strategies that promote and foster communication and engage students in activities allowing the pupils to develop their thinking skills

  • Assessing Learning

Knowledge of formal and informal methods of assessment

  • Curriculum Development

Capacity to design and develop formal and informal content and processes by which learners gain knowledge, develop skills, and alter attitudes
