GIS Officer (03 Positions)

QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geography (16 years of education) from a university recognized by the HEC.
• MS/MPhil in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing shall be preferred.
• Diploma/Certificate Course in GIS, Remote Sensing shall be preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 1 year of post qualification experience in ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, MapInfo, Ilwis and other GIS tools and software for identification of unserved/underserved areas with respect to Telecom /Mobile/Optical Networks
• Practical experience in GIS applications, Spatial Analysis through GIS
• Visual Analysis, change detection, supervised and unsupervised classification
• Experience of Data Analysis, estimation and regression tools such as SPSS, R etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To assist in:

• Capturing, converting, creating, editing and maintaining Digital information in GIS and produce quality cartographic maps.
• Use GIS tools to identify and categorize, population, settlements, mauzas, tehsils, union councils, their boundaries, roads and telecom wired/wireless infrastructure. Mauza profiling and sanity checks.                   
• Spatial Data Analysis based on existing telecom coverage prediction plots to identify unserved/underserved areas.
• GIS based analysis of existing optical network and layout of new network, routes, terrain, soil categorization, node placement, identification of quantities. Data analysis using GIS for finding anomalies.
