Project Manager - Sustainable Energy Project
Tetra Tech ES, Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech (USA) dedicated to international development, is recruiting Pakistan-based professional for the position below to support multi-year (2017-2021) USAID-funded Sustainable Energy for Pakistan project.
Main Responsibilities include
This position involves working in coordination with the management of DISCOS and supervisory role while leading various initiatives under the SEP project. To be effective, the incumbent needs to be a senior person well experienced in power industry and must command high respect in distribution sub-sector. He must be able to lead and coordinate all SEP initiatives and improvement projects and extend technical support to SEP management as desired.
The Project Manager will provide managerial and technical oversight for distribution related field activities for the targeted DISCOS , which include but not limited to:
- Close liaison with DISCO management on project activities and act as SEP focal person for the designated DISCOs.
- Ensure coordination and arrange consultation meetings with DISCOs to bring on board their management regarding all major activities of the project and to regularly apprise them on progress & development.
- Coordinate with DISCOs regarding data and information collection as per the project requirements.
- Assist the SEP Task lead/Advisor during implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives designed under SEP for the DISCOs.
- In a timely manner, keep the SEP Task lead/Advisor fully informed regarding developments in field affecting the project implementation and its progress.
- Prepare detailed activity reports for the tasks under execution / implementation on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Act as a trouble shooter for all the technical, administrative and other field related issues affecting the project tasks and activities.
- Assist in compiling technical and completion/close out reports for the respective projects and intervention in DISCOs.
- Carry out time to time any other job assigned by the managers related to the project.
Location
One position located in Peshawar and One in Multan
QUALIFICATIONS: (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)
EDUCATION:
- Engineering Degree (Electrical) or MBA from an HEC recognized university.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Candidate should have mid to senior level experience for at least 5 years in distribution sector (DISCOS).
- Excellent knowledge of various technical and commercial interventions to improve business operations of DISCOs.
- Experience of working on multi donor projects is a plus.
- Ability to work in team environment and meet tight deadlines under demanding conditions.
- Excellent communication, writing and computer skills with ability to present complex technical proposals.
LANGUAGES: Excellent Language proficiency in spoken and written Urdu, English.
GENERAL: Tactfulness, Enthusiasm to the job. Good Human Relation skills, integrity and ability to work under pressure.
