Introduction

A public sector funded project, working for the development of selective value chains in horticulture sector, is inviting applications for the position of Compliance Manager (Horticulture Value Chains) on contract basis to be based at Lahore.This is a mid-level position reporting to the Team Lead.

Overview&Scope of Work

Compliance Manager (Horticulture Value Chains) will be responsible for the successful completion of compliances against set targets related to Global GAP, HACCEP/ISO 20002 etc. He will be working closely with certification bodies, farmers clusters/value chain players, regional teams for fulfilling the requirements of the relevant compliances.

 Specific Tasks:

Compliance Manager (Horticulture Value Chains) will

• Assure that beneficiary application, compliance plans and related inspection reports contain required descriptions, protocols, procedures, and records to demonstrate compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Maintain record keeping systems in compliance with accreditation requirements
• Serve as mentor/trainer and provide technical support to facilitate certification bodies, regional teams
• Contact clients to review findings and outstanding issues, and provide technical support by clarifying any technical requirements and issues.
• Make determinations for non-compliance points that require client corrective actions necessary to meet compliance standards and otherrequiremnetsas applicable, based on review of client documentation and inspection reports to support ongoing certification.
• Provide and implement process improvements in the inspection and post audit review process of certification bodies
• Assist with development and/or updating SOPs to maintain efficient workflow for inspection during audit for various compliances
• Perform other duties as assigned related to compliance work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master degree in agriculture
• Five years related work experience with certification bodies, farmers clusters, processors, exporters
• Ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts.
• Familiar with compliance procedures being applied, knowledgeable regarding all applicable standards and regulations, familiar with agriculture/horticulture crops, processing, or handling procedures and methods.
• Ability to conduct training program or equivalent training as required by certification bodies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated project and time management skills.
