JOB PURPOSE:

Research, expand and monitor Organization presence on social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn; draft and proofread social media updates for Organization’s channels, designing and implementing of global social media campaigns.

 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

  • The specialist will specifically be called upon to support Organization’s communications efforts in the following areas:
  • Expand Organization’s global online community, including active engagement with priority audiences, especially influencer accounts, in coordination with language social media focal points and other stakeholders;
  • Design and implement effective global social media campaigns for special events and topics, especially around the Sustainable Development Goals, Organization’s work around Social Welfare, Environment & Climate Change and Entrepreneurship development, including creation of social media packages for partners;
  • Coordinate social media around international days, including drafting of an outreach plan, live tweeting and online engagement with participants;
  • Support the development and implementation of new “Digital Good” programs to engage individuals in supporting and communicating about Organization’s work in order to help raise Organization’s global profile, build new audiences and raise funds for and awareness of Organization’s goals and priorities;
  • Draft, edit and post compelling and engaging content for online platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Design, implement and promote live chats with organization followers on social media platforms;
  • build and share knowledge with organization colleagues through participation at communications workshops, training and exchange of best practices, including updating and maintaining Organization’s Social Media Toolkit;
  • Assist organization staff nationwide on best practices around using social media for outreach and advocacy, including photo gathering and editing, graphic creation and presentation;
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with regional Communications team to leverage online communications to enhance the Organization’s mission.

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Communications, International Relations or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience at the national or international level in digital media, journalism, communications or related field;
  • Experience in managing social media channels, preferably for a non profit;
  • Proven track record in creating compelling social media campaigns and content for non profit;
  • Demonstrated experience in speedy quality writing in English, analysis and problem solving;
  • Experience in training peers and knowledge management highly desirable;
  • Experience using graphic editing software desirable;
  • Experience in using knowledge management tools and systems.

LANGUAGE:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English;
  • Working knowledge of Local languages will be preferred
