Job Title: Research Associates I, to the Technical Committee of the Punjab Examination Commission
Location: Lahore, Pakistan
Duration: 03 months contract (Starting from May 2019)
Purpose - Mott MacDonald Ltd. on behalf of Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) will be recruiting a Research Associate to be deployed for three months to work with the Technical Committee (henceforth, TeC) of PEC. The main purpose of the role is to assist TeC in the production of specific pieces of research to inform the review and finalisation of the Punjab Assessment Policy Framework (APF) in line with a renewed mandate for PEC
Job Responsibilities - Work closely with TeC members and PEC assessment staff to understand process design, including major strengths and challenges, and build a portfolio of relevant recommendations emerging from such research
Review the draft Punjab Assessment Policy Framework and its underlying research to identify gaps in APF scope, needs analysis, argument framing and assessment system case studies analysed
Develop and populate an Assessment Case Matrix that aligns with Punjab’s contextual circumstances (socio-economic; cultural; performance)
Use multiple data sources (primary and secondary) to examine Punjab’s learning and assessment context and potential for verifying current recommendations made by the Framework
Develop a phasing-in strategy with proposed budgetary needs for the successful introduction and delivery of different assessment components proposed in the Framework
Reporting - Associates shall report directly to the Convenor of TeC, who shall be responsible for timely communication of ongoing findings and results to the remaining members of the Committee through digital platforms as required
During officially convened meetings, associates shall brief TeC directly
At any point in time, associates may engage with members of TeC directly for the completion of their respective assignments
Eligibility - The ideal candidate will have;
- A back ground in research, familiar with research techniques and methodologies
- An MPhil or research degree from a reputable institution
- Worked on or is familiar with the assessment and/or education system in Punjab
Remuneration – the successful candidate will be paid a competitive market salary commensurate with their qualifications and experience
