Scope of Work

The Program Coordinator will work closely with the CTFK Country Representative to support programmatic, advocacy and media related activities.  Specific duties include:

  • Keep regular contacts with TCC, Ministry of Health, Services and Regulations, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Federal Board of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Cabinet Division and other relevant ministries, divisions and departments for following the latest developments regarding TC policies.
  • Develop databank of country disaggregated relevant information, studies, research, evaluation, cases studies etc. on tobacco control and helping the Country Representative in preparing different policy briefs.
  • Assist Country Representative in preparing monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and yearly progress reports, proceedings of different meeting, discussions, dialogues, media briefs, workshops, retreats, seminars, symposia, colloquial and any such events for the furtherance of the cause of TFK in particular and tobacco control in general.
  • Assist Country Representative to undertake targeted high level policy advocacy campaigns (e.g. with high officials, MPs and ministers).
  • Drafting and translating different notes and documents prepared for TFK and other stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and support advocacy communication and media strategies in partnership with NGOs and NGO networks in Pakistan;
  • In partnership with in-country NGOs, develop and implement methods to increase the capacity of the media in Pakistan to report on public health issues, including journalism workshops and other programs;
  • In partnership with in-country NGOs and partners, oversee mass media campaigns in Pakistan;
  • Oversee production of communication materials;
  • Assist in designing, developing and conducting targeted research under the guidance of the TFK Director of South Asia Region and the Country Representative in Pakistan on emerging issues as and when necessary and providing inputs to the potential grantees in accomplishing such undertakings.
  • Assist the TFK Pakistan in-country consultants with logistical support and in organizing various events such as meeting, training, workshops, dialogues, including.
    • Contacting (and following up) the participants of the event.
    • Booking event venue and meals
    • Preparing meetings materials
    • Ensuring smooth management of food and accommodation for the participants of the event.
    • Arranging vehicles and other logistics supports for the event.
  • Maintain database of contacts and useful information for the use of the TFK Pakistan in-country consultants.
  • Contact different persons as required by the Country Representative.
  • Provide any other programmatic and administrative support as required by the Country Representative.

Any other task that may be assigned by the TFK Director of South Asia Region and the Country Representative in Pakistan

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: 

  • A minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in Pakistan ideally in advocacy
  • Excellent analytical, writing and public speaking skills 
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication and in working with peoples from diverse cultures and countries 
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to balance and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced, changing environment 
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English 
  • Proficiency in written and/or spoken Urdu
