ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) is a nonprofit public service organization with a mandate to promote the volume and effectiveness of philanthropy for development in Pakistan.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITES

The JPO - PSS will reporting to the SPO.

JOB PREVIEW

Established in 2001, PCP is the only philanthropy infrastructure support organization in Pakistan. Its mission is to increase the volume and effectiveness of indigenous philanthropy for social development in Pakistan. Similarly, through philanthropy and collaborative linkages between stakeholders, PCP is working towards a future where social development efforts in Pakistan are mainly supported by indigenous sources.

The incumbent to assist the Philanthropy Support Services Unit in managing the initiatives which aims to develop viable, practical and sustainable linkages between the corporate philanthropists, NPOs and the beneficiary communities for supporting the social sector development in Pakistan. The work requires initiative, innovation, focus on results, multi-tasking and extensive interaction with corporate donors and NPOs. They key tasks to be performed are as under:

JOB DESCRIPTION (TOR’S)

A.     Partnerships Development

    1. Preparing and executing plans with the SPO to reach out to stakeholders for marketing and for creating awareness. These stakeholders may include corporate donors (individuals/ organizations), international donor agencies, diaspora and NPOs.
    2. Positioning of PCP within the corporate sector facilitating them in channelizing their CSR funds to the high-impact and local CSOs.
    3. Reviewing literature to identify national and if possible international best practice around philanthropy support and grant facilitation services.

B.      Grants Management

    1. Reviewing project proposals to ensure they are complete and in compliance;
    2. Sifting of project proposals and maintaining summary sheets;
    3. Communication with the grant-seekers to verify or clarify information;
    4. Liaising with corporate donors on grants implementation, reporting, information sharing and further work planning;
    5. Managing the approved grants on a daily basis to achieve the performance indicators agreed with the donor in line with set timelines within the scope of approved budgets and work plans. This includes:
  • Conducting mid-point telephone check-ins with grantees;
  • Grantee site visits, when necessary;
  • Ensuring timely receipt of narrative and financial reports from grantees;
  • Reviewing all grantee reports to ensure they are complete and in compliance with reporting standards;
  • Timely preparation and submission of progress reports and financial reports to the corporate donors.

C.     Business Development

    1. Reviewing/shortlisting of business opportunities, working with the relevant team to develop EOIs and business proposals, organizing presentations and assist in meetings/ negotiations;

MINIMUM EDCUATION & EXPEREINCE
