Introduction:

The PATTA project is funded through USAID has been awarded to CNFA since April 2017 to increase smallholder farmers’ access to markets, alongside their overall development impact and cost-effectiveness. PATTA is making the business case for sustained private-sector investments in agricultural technology transfer, adaptations, outreach, and marketing such that profitable, inclusive output marketing opportunities for smallholders over the long term can be identified. PATTA is supporting the collective work of supply- and demand-side partners to launch and sustain activities that provide evidence of the value of improved technologies to change farmers attitude through behavior change. These include the promotion of activities with a proven record of success, such as field days, demo plots, and peer-to-peer education by lead farmers.

Position Background: PATTA project is working with Supply Side partners for commercialization of technologies through organizing demos, expos and training sessions. STTA will assist in coordination and implementation of project activities related to Agriculture Technology unit in coordination with Supply Side Partners.

Objective and Scope:

Working under the direction of the Livestock Technology Officer, the STTA’s tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist in development of concept note, scope of work, MoU, training reports and shot term technical assistance
  • Coordination with PATTA partners for implementation of project activities
  • Organize expo and demonstrations for commercialization of technology in coordination with Supply Side Partners
  • Assisting and designing activities for international consultants for meeting, capacity building session and associated tasks
  • Designing interventions within domain of project for Supply Side Partners
  • Review of primary and secondary research, assessments, and training reports
  • Prepare presentations, correspondence, meeting arrangements, minutes and other tasks
  • Develop resources and related information on technologies and partners
  • Record meeting results and action items for follow up required in contacts with partners
  • Coordinate with and provide administrative support for STTAs in field 

Deliverables:

  1. Submit work plan within 3 days of assignment commencement  
  2. Submit weekly update report to reporting officer 
  3. Provide meeting minutes, concept notes and statement of work documents as per submitted work plan

 Desired Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in agriculture/Business administration/agribusiness or related field
  2. 2 to 3 years of working experience in agriculture sector or agribusiness
  3. Demonstrated ability to work in a team;
  4. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Documented excellent report writing skills in English
  6. Oral fluency in English
  7. Willingness to travel to field (rural and/or urban areas)
