Advancing Girls Education & Skills (AGES) USAID-funded program will be operating in four provinces (Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) of Pakistan.  The four-year program works to improve access to formal and informal education, engage communities to support expanded educational and employment opportunities, and collaborate with the Pakistani government to strengthen policies which support girls and young women.

Location: Sindh

Reports To: Team Lead – Sindh & Balochistan

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 40% in field or as required

 

General Summary:

Reporting to the Team Lead – Sindh & Balochistan, the Technical Coordinator will be the focal point with regard to implementation of the AGES activities across the selected districts in Sindh and Balochistan. The position will support in planning and coordination with relevant government line departments for effective implementation of project activities. The Technical Coordinator will work with all key stakeholders for mainstreaming of the AGES interventions to ensure continuity and sustainability through scaling up AGES model interventions. The position will represent AGES at various provincial forums and will provide feedback to the Provincial Team Lead on strategies to maximize the impact of the program. Specific Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

PROGRAMATIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and organize the implementation of all aspects of the AGES program under the guidance of the Provincial Team Lead;
  • Represent the AGES program in interactions with the departments/Ministries/Directorates/ district education offices and other educational institutions;
  • Coordinate with M&E team for monitoring of program activities and identifying opportunities for improving program implementation;
  • Provide management support to field office(s) as required;
  • Assist in developing scopes of work, providing guidance and facilitating logistical support to short term technical assistance;
  • Work with the Team Lead to prepare work plans and budgets as and when needed
  • Provide timely and precise information from the field for monthly, quarterly, yearly or any other reports and documentation;
  • Update the Provincial Team Lead about implementation of program activities especially Accelerated Learning Program (ALP), play based pedagogy, life skills program, employer relations strategy and community engagement efforts; and make recommendations for improvement or course correction;
  • Support planning and organization of project events, launches, ceremonies etc. to highlight AGES program at district and provincial levels; 
  • Compile success stories from the field and undertake case studies to highlight impact of the project
  • Conduct follow up visit of schools to ensure quality implementation of program activities and provide feedback for course corrections
  • Prepare and submit district level monthly, quarterly and annual reports and maintain updates to be shared with supervisor on a regular or as and when required basis
  • Adhere to organizational policies and promote participatory culture and demonstrate organization’s values

Qualifications:

Education:         

  • Master’s degree in social sciences (a bachelor or master’s degree in education related discipline will be preferred) with at least 05 years of experience preferably in education and skills development projects

Work Experience (Essential):    

  • At minimum five (5) years of similar work experience, preferably with USAID-funded projects
  • Experience of working in target districts
  • Experience of donor funded education and skills development programs particularly for girls and young women
  • Experience and knowledge of donor requirements and government administration at local level
  • Experience and knowledge of M&E and research methods

Demonstrated Skills:

  • Ability to independently organize work and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to manage and adhere to strict timelines
  • Strong information sharing and report writing skills
  • Solid understanding of overall MEL function, monitoring processes, surveys, evaluation methods and CLA.
  • Proficient in data management and data analysis both quantitative & qualitative 
  • Proven analytical, coordination and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills
