Background: The position is for an international development project working to deliver social infrastructure across Pakistan.

Position Summary: The position is responsible for assisting Procurement Department in managing the works/services/goods procurement function.

Location: Islamabad

Reporting and Supervision: This position will report to Procurement Manager.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Stakeholders Relationship Management

  • Establish good interpersonal relationships with all the employees and stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist Procurement Manager in monitoring all procurement related activities
  • Assist in developing and preparing contracts for procurement of contractors and works, issuing tender invitations, evaluating responses to tender.
  • Assist in pre-qualification of contractors/consultants/ suppliers
  • Support Procurement department during all phases of the procurement cycle
  • Assist in issuing variation orders, addendums whichever applicable

Activity Reporting

  • Provide accurate and timely activity-based reporting as per project SOPs: weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.
  • Provide informative, timely and effectively presented written reports/numerical data as required

Minimum Qualification and Experience required:

  • 4 Years University Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing and contracts preferably related to construction and engineering sector
  • An engineering background with good knowledge of procurement processes and good practices inclusive of pre-qualification of contractors/suppliers/consultants, contract formulation, Tender/RFQ/RFP processing, evaluation/award of bid, quantity surveying, invoice processing techniques is must.
  • Relevant IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and web-based applications
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
