Constituency Coordinator [Male /Female]

JOB PURPOSE: URDO is a member organization of the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN). With the support of The Asia Foundation, FAFEN is implementing a nationwide program entitled, “Supporting Transparency, Accountability and Electoral Processes in Pakistan” program to strengthen all forms of democratic accountabilities in the country. Under the program, one of the primary objectives is to encourage active citizenry to hold elected representatives accountable and answerable to their constituents.

URDO is now hiring a Constituency Coordinator to implement project activities in the designated constituency [Nowshera-KPK]. The Constituency Coordinator will be required:

1.To ensure conduct of all fields activities in the designated constituency including:

• Social Mobilization
• Local Governance Scan
• Voter education
• Voter registration
• Voter list audits
• Surveys
• Public Meetings
• Meetings with Elected Representatives
• Advocacy initiatives
• Press briefings
• Election Observation
• Any other as assigned by the Program Manager
• To report daily activities to FAFEN providing all required details;
• To Ensure all means of verifications for all activities are mailed to the FAFEN Secretariat on time;
• To identify and persuade people according to FAFEN criteria for inclusion in the Constituency Relations Group (CRG);
• To ensure periodic meetings of CRG in an effort to bring forth the issues of the constituents for presentation to elected representatives as national, provincial and local levels;
• To facilitate the working of CRG in taking independent pro-constituency advocacy initiatives;
• To develop working linkages with local level bureaucracy and public institutions to highlight FAFEN’s work;
• Regular contact and sharing program performance and challenges with the management;
• Any other task as assigned by the Program Manager.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters in Social Sciences
• Pakistani national fluent in written and spoken English and Urdu.
• Demonstrated experience in social mobilization, surveys, FGDs and facilitation.
• Ability to make work plans.
• Expert knowledge of constituency.
• Be a current resident of the designated Constituency.
• Fluent in standard computer programs, including online applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and excellent typing skills in English.
• Demonstrated self-initiative, ability to work in a highly-productive team, and ability to work to tight deadlines and under time pressure.
