Purpose of the post

As an integral part of multi-disciplinary team, the Assistant Teaching Nurse promotes and ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care aimed at reaching national/international standards depending on the context. S/he works to build capacity in nursing care and infection control in ICRC-supported Hospitals in KP, Pakistan.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high-quality teaching/training/coaching in nursing care to nursing staff (health care provides) at all levels.

  • Provide high-quality training/coaching ‘’Training of Trainers’’ for nursing staff to become nurse teachers/nurse trainers.

  • Participate in developing training programs according to training needs and level of nursing staff (health care providers).

  • Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of the teaching/training provided.

  • Participate in assessments, re assessments and evaluation of training needs for nursing staff (health care providers) in the ICRC supported hospitals.

  • Develop and maintain adequate and updated training resources (library, teaching material, skills lab etc.

  • Ensure accurate data collection through the timely completion and filing of all training-related documents.

  • Produce a monthly, bi-annual and annual report and give recommendations regarding continuation of the Nurse Development Program of ICRC.

  • Write training report reports and minutes of meeting within the Nursing development department.

  • Promote a clean and safe patient environment and ensure that hygiene conditions are regularly measured and maintained in line with international standards.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent (minimum 4-year course).

  2. Registered nurse with a valid license (Pakistan Nursing Council registration) to practice in Pakistan.

  3. Master’s degree in nursing or public health preferred.

  4. Minimum 5 years overall work experience as a Nurse in a hospital.

  5. Fluent English & Urdu (written & oral).

  6. Speaking Pashto an asset.

  7. Computer literacy.
