Reporting Line: Finance Manager

Department: Finance

Job Summary

This position is mainly responsible for entering a large amount of financial data accurately into the financial management system. Daily tasks will also include, but not be limited to creating purchase requisition orders, preparing, updating and processing purchase orders, updating administrative forms, dealing with day-to-day transactions, organise and maintain financial records and perform account reconciliations.

Main Duties and responsibilities

Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Establish good interpersonal relationships with all the employees and stakeholders

Day-to-day accounting

  • Process transactions using cashbook and Financial Management System under the supervision of the Senior Accountant and Management.
  • Dealing with day-to-day requests for Petty cash
  • Process invoices and other payments
  • Opening staff bank accounts for payroll purposes
  • Preparing tax schedules

Data entry, maintenance and management

  • Enter large quantities of data into the Financial Management System accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure data in the system is up-to-date at all times.

Administration

  • Maintain tracking documents (eg invoice register, asset register etc.)
  • Maintain document filing of all financial transactions.
  • Assist with Financial Management Assessments (depending on experience)

Activity Reporting

  • Provide accurate and timely activity-based reporting as per project SOPs: weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.
  • Provide informative, timely and effectively presented written reports/numerical data as required
  • Maintain Finance Data

Minimum Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in an accounting department and  with a Financial Management System.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience working for an international firm.

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge Required

  • A BSc in Finance, Accounting or other related studies
  • Completed or currently working towards a professional qualification through an accredited body (eg. ACCA, CIMA etc)
  • Written and spoken English as well as local language(s);
  • IT Literacy: Excellent knowledge of Excel, able to use M’soft Word, Powerpoint;
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP will be an advantage.
