Job Description:

    Surveyors report through the line management system to the Chief Surveyor who reports to the Party Manager on all HSE and departmental matters.

Specific responsibilities include but are not be limited to the followings:

1. The Chief Surveyor participates in the identification and assessment of the hazards specific to the operation and in the establishment of control and recovery measures.

2. The Chief Surveyor validates all Survey working procedures, Checklists and Job training.

3. The Chief Surveyor complies with all contractual specifications and provides the client with all field acquisition data information.

4. Quality controls traverse lines by processing the receiver and source points from the raw field notes providing the data to the Seismologist.

        5. Provides daily production figures to the PC/PM and updates production maps.

6. Ensures all survey department personnel receive their work program before entering the field and clearly mandates the specifications and procedures.

7. Prepares sketch lines showing obstacles and disseminates them to the other departments.

9. Scouts new areas of operation, positions the lines within contractual requirements.

10. Identifies obstacles in liaison with the permit department in order to position source points safely while trying to minimize the exposure of crew personnel to hazards.

11. Ensures the implementation of the environment preservation policy concerning width of line’s cut girth of trees cut and usage of wood for bridging.

12. The Chief Surveyor reports all Unsafe Acts/Conditions and Near Misses and ensures the implementation of the programmed safety pep talks, safety meetings and safety audits for his department and takes part in accident investigation according to the system in place.

13. Reports to the PC, APC and QC Office

Qualification: Intermediate /DAE Civil

Experience: 10 Years

Only those candidates shall be shortlisted who have relevant experience in 2D/3D Seismic Acquisition.
