Staff Health Officer

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Islamabad is looking for a suitable candidate to fill this vacancy, which is initially based on six months extendable contract.

REQUIREMENTS:

• ŸPossess a medical diploma or University degree in health and/or a relevant discipline
• ŸHave at least 3 years’ experience in a similar field
• ŸHave the ability to work with different groups, partners and nationalities
• ŸHave the proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and cope with competing demands under tight deadlines
• ŸBe fluent in spoken and written English
• Be computer literate
• Assets are: Having experience in mental health, stress management, medical evacuation, transportation, tropical health and public health
• ŸAbility to work in team, coordinate tasks, also over distance
• ŸFlexibility for travel, mainly to Peshawar

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement the staff health strategy at the delegation level for all staff through activities linked to prevention, health care and medical emergencies, stress management, medical insurances
• ŸContributes to, implements and supervises staff health policies
• Carries out individual / collective health briefing for all new staff in the delegation for staff
• Evaluate medical structures and quality of services provided; identifies and monitors services for referral and treatment of staff members
• Collects accurate and reliable data pertaining to illnesses, accidents and absenteeism, with a view to providing statistics on illnesses and the medical risks taken by staff members
• ŸCollects medical reports and requests ICRC financial support when the insurance cover is exhausted
• ŸAccompanies difficult cases to ensure appropriate treatment
• ŸExecutes office and administrative work, including processing of medical invoices and approval of medical expenses, mostly independently
• ŸMaintain strict confidentiality with regard to all medical information
