Job Title: Grants Manager

Reports to:Head of Finance and Operations, AJPP

Job location: Islamabad

 

Introduction to DAI – AJPP Project:

DAI has been awarded the Accountable Justice in Pakistan Programme (AJPP). The four-year, £12 million, DFID-funded project will improve application of the rule of law by equipping Pakistani men, women, and children with the knowledge and capacity to hold key law enforcement and justice sector institutions to account.

AJPP will enhance the rule of law by 1) increasing the accountability and oversight of law enforcement and justice institutions, and 2) increasing engagement by citizens in legal reforms and legal empowerment, leading to a better informed citizenry. Working in three target provinces, AJPP will prioritize the engagement of women, girls, minority communities, and the poor in justice sector accountability reforms.

 

Scope of the Work:

To manage AJPP grants/ grantees and consortium partners. Also manage finances, accounts, due diligence, monitoring, reconciliations, forecasts, variance analysis and budgets; and report findings in line with DAI’s grant manual.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to robust and transparent compliance and grants procedures in line with grants and subcontract guidelines;
  • Maintain an accurate database for information of all financial transactions and disbursements of records of the grants/grantees;
  • Ensure grantees’reports are compliant with financial, grants management and reporting obligations;
  • Facilitate timely disbursements;
  • Update and maintain grants management records as appropriate;
  • Assess and report on financial, grants management and administrative capacity of grantees;
  • Liaise closely with grantees to ensure grantees’understanding of, and compliance with, the grants management manual and procedures;
  • Provide support andassistance in timely submission of financial and technical reports;
  • Calculate and report on overall monthly variance analysis;
  • Develop grantees capacity as identified areas in due diligence;
  • Undertake schedule and spot-check field visits to grantees as and when required;
  • Respond to any queries directly raised by the Team Leader.

 

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Over 5 years’ Finance and Accounting experience;
  • Capacity to work with a variety of stakeholders and grantees;
  • Capability to meet deadlines;
  • Over 5 years’ grants management experience on DFID/ BHC funded programmes;
  • Familiar with donor funded projects especially in the governance/ public administration/ Justice sector
