TORs for Health & Hygiene Consultant

Background:

Through the proposed intervention Initiative for Development and Empowerment Axis (IDEA) aims to provide adolescent girls in 07 UCs of District Torghar with access to education with enabling environment for learning.

The organization seeks to do this by conducting Health & Hygiene session with adolescent girls and mothers to ensure risk free learning environment for targeted 120 ALP Students & 360 adolescent girls in regular government schools. The project aims to facilitating government in upgrading 12 girls primary schools to middle level by providing missing items, rejuvenating Parent Teacher Councils (PTCs), and running an Accelerated Learning Program for 120 adolescent girls thereat; and fostering a reading culture in selected primary schools by setting up library corners, conducting talking story sessions, and compiling and publishing story books

Objectives of Health & Hygiene Session

1)    To orient adult girls and their mothers in health & hygiene.

2)    To improve health & hygiene condition to enable environment for learning both school and houses.

3)    To adopt good practices of hygiene by target group in daily life.

Deliverables:

• Developing of materials/Behaviour change AV aids etc.
• Recording of pre session major health issues in that particular community on specified template.
• Conducting 36 session with mother and children
• Submission of session report & impact analysis of intervention.
• The required 36 sessions shall be completed in three month (12 session per month)

Applicant Criteria:

1. 1.      Having master in MPH/Social science having 5-6 years’ experience of Health & Hygiene Component.
2. 2.      Demonstrated experience of 3-4 years particularly in designing of health literature/BCC.
3. 3.      Having sound knowledge of health risks & associated factors with at least 5-8 consultancies.
4. 4.      Having past expertise of developing health related materials/Behaviour change AV aids.
5. 5.      Previous experience of project execution for 3-4 years particularly in Health/WASH sector.
6. 6.      Excellent knowledge in the health standards and procedure.
7. 7.      Understand local cultural and language of the area.
8. 8.      The project will deduct taxes as applicable under law of Pakistan.
9. 9.      Only female consultants are eligible to apply.

Remuneration

The consultant would be paid a lump sum amount as per the following schedule:

1. 25% after the signing of the consultancy contract.
2. 50% will be released after the completion of 36 H&H Sessions.
3. 25% will be released after submission of final report.
