Project Description:

The U.S.-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development (AMD) activity in Pakistan is a USAID funded project implemented by CNFA with the goal of supporting the development of Pakistan’s commercial agriculture, particularly through ‘Increased Economic Performance of Focus Enterprises’ to meet both international and domestic demand and requirements in targeted product lines in the Livestock, High Value Off Season Vegetables (HVOSV), Citrus, and Mango sectors. The program aims to create productive commercial linkages between agricultural producers and the private sector in the mango, citrus, halal meat, and high-value off-season vegetable value chains.

Position Summary: 

This position will be based in Lahore and is open to Pakistani nationals only. CNFA is seeking applications from qualified candidates for Agricultural Market Development Program (AMD) in Pakistan. Under the guidance of Director M&E, the Database Consultant will assist in designing and maintain the web based MIS. The consultant will support in strengthening of Performance monitoring data and maintaining database. The consultant will assist in maintaining baseline and performance data relevant to AMD targeted value chains of Citrus, Mango, High Value/Off Seasons Vegetables and Livestock.  The consultant will assist in managing primary data on key indicators through maintaining database regularly. More specifically, duties include:

  • Develop and manage web based MIS
  • Support the management in the analysis of processed data and information and perform data quality and consistency control.
  • Manage automated analysis and various reports through MIS
  • To support the data entry, generate required information / reports from the database and performance data
  • Baseline and performance data entry on excel sheets and on SPSS and maintain datasets
  • Maintain clean and fully labeled Database in Ms. Excel and in SPSS
  • Maintain, update and manage data pertaining to output, outcome and impact indicators
  • Manage value chain wise database and making sure the validity and reliability of data and support in devising tools to corroborate data accuracy
  • The collected data will be analyzed to produce several reports including baseline, & monitoring and for several updates.
  • Supporting quantitative analysis and visualization of data
  • Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data on quarterly basis
  • Provide statistical support for quarterly, annual and other reporting requirements
  • Carry out other duties, as necessary and assigned.

Deliverables:

  • Data entry and management of entire data pertaining to baseline and performance data
  • Development and management of web based MIS
  • Up keeping and trouble shouting of any glitches and issues pertaining to MIS
  • Maintaining and updating MIS on regular basis to ensure the accurate and timely provision of data to project management
  • Manage value chain wise database and making sure the validity and reliability of data and support in devising tools to corroborate data accuracy
  • Clean and fully labeled Database in Ms. Excel
  • Cleaned and fully labeled data sets in SPSS
  • Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data on quarterly basis
  • Provide statistical support for quarterly, annual and other reporting requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Pakistani national;
  • At least a Bachelor degree in Business Management, Statistics, Finance or related field Sciences
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in data management is required, preferably in food security and/or nutrition programs or in social sector projects.
  • Sound experience in designing web based MIS and data management systems
  • Experience in database development and management.
  • Excellent analytical, computer, and communication skills and proven track record of data management, analysis and reporting
  • Excellent computer skills (Word Processing, Excel spreadsheet, Power point) and Ms. Access
  • Experience working with USAID and international donors required;
  • Excellent skills of data management and interpretation through SPSS
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written English communication skills.
