Overview

The Communications Officer will manage project information and communications needs in support of project objectives. This position will provide support across all project offices. The position will report to the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer in Islamabad.

 

Scope of Work

 

  • Manage project information, communication needs and other evidence of achievement.
  • Setting up of communications systems and processes for the program. This includes training staff on reporting, developing reporting templates, and regularly liaising with SMT, donors and partners on program information needs.
  • Use information in Activity Database and MEL reports to compile quick results reporting on program status and impact, including success stories.
  • Oversee reporting of program status and impact to various audiences and through a variety of formats.
  • Provide guidance and support to media components, as needed on activities and to media grantees.
  • Oversee the Non-Partisan Review Process for the program. This includes developing a review process, training program teams and partners on the processes, and identifying solutions to any issues raised during the process. Also requires liaising with partners, SMT, and donors as needed to ensure compliance.
  • Supervising a communications team across two offices that includes two Information and Reporting Officers.
  • Supporting M&E Officer in supervising and coordinating with M&E teams in regional offices. This includes reviewing of final M&E documents that include RMRs, FERs, M&E Plans, and data collection tools, assisting regional teams in coordination with IMU, and reviewing of M&E components at the activity design stage. Acting M&E Manager in the absence of M&E Manger.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in communications for development activities in conflict settings related role required.
  • Relevant experience working on donor funded project in a related role highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office suite) required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • English language fluency required.
