Position Purpose
HelpAge International is technical partner in consortium with CONCERN worldwide, IRC, ACTED and other technical partners like CDP, Kings College London and Ogilvy & Mather and implementing DFID funder programme “Building Disaster Resilience in Pakistan-BDRP”
The project will be implemented in 3 phases and in 32 districts of Pakistan. However these district will be finalized discussion with FAO and NDMA.
The person for this position will be largely responsible to technically assist the consortium partners on inclusion of gender, age and disability in all programming. The person will be doing this by providing sensitization session i.e. largely in TOTs and other provincial and district level training, providing technical assistance i.e. through technical sessions, review of different tools and providing different tools and ongoing support i.e. through monitoring visits to different locations.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of Programmes Inclusion Officer-EPDRR the Project Inclusion assistant will play a central role in supporting HelpAge International, Consortium partners in “Building Disaster Resilience in Pakistan-BDRP” and other local partners, to take steps towards mainstreaming gender, age and disability into their project activities. Project Inclusion assistant will technically assist and coordinate with BDRP consortium in mainstreaming gender, age and disability in their project activities and approaches.
Roles and responsibilities
Internal
- Will closely work with Ageing and Disability Task Force-ADTF and consolidate the material available on inclusion of age and disability like guidelines on health, shelter, WASH and inclusive CBDRM.
- Will support consortium in mainstreaming age and disability in their activities/programme by reviewing the tools and guidelines to ensure that OP and PWDs are included at every step.
- Facilitate development Inclusion Action Plan of local implementing partners, Monitoring progress on inclusion and sharing lessons learnt at monthly basis.
- In coordination with local partners at field will also be responsible to held awareness raising sessions on importance of age and disability statistics/data.
- Will provide ongoing support to consortium by regular field visits and suggest improvement/changes in approaches to better include/meaningful participation of different vulnerable groups.
- Will be responsible to produce event reports and donor quarterly reports for the consortium.
- Any other task assigned by the line manager
External
- Will represent HelpAge in consortium working groups, when and where required.

Experience

- two to three (2-3) years progressively responsible professional work experience in the field of DRR/CBDRM

Previous experience of inclusive CBDRM or Disability will be prefered.
