Driver

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
 
·         Provide chauffeur services at the representational level including knowledge and compliance of travel, customs and travel procedures & ensure the vehicle is maintened regularly.
·         Provides reliable and safe driving services, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol whilst ensuring compliance with local driving rules and regulations. 
·         The Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. 
·         Carrying out duties as per set instructions e.g. doing errands.
·         Communicating the work of organization in Pakistan e.g. at security check posts, to security officials.
 
MAIN TASKS
 
·         Timeliness in carrying out the tasks.
·         Ensure the First Aid Kit, Tool kit, contact lists & Fire Extenguisher are available in vehicle & reports promptly any losses, malfunctions or accidents  immediately after event occurs.
·         Ensures vehicle & generator is kept in good running condition at all times through addressing minor repairs, making arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, water levels and car washing.
·         Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle registration, vehicle & generator log books, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle; keeps track of insurance and other tax formalities.  
·         Support Office administrative functions when driver services are not solicited including: sorting and distributing incoming mail and faxes, photocopying, reception, collection of quotations, delivering urgent mail/messages/couriers
 

 

·         Provide first aid if and when required.
·         Coordination among the team.
·         Compliance with Security routines, regulations and SOPs.
·         Any other task assigned by the supervisor or management.
·         Changes in this job description will take place after discussions between employer and employee, and as a part of the annual PDR follow-up.

·         Minimum Secondary Education; a valid driver's license and excellent knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
·         Minimum Ten years of work experience as a driver preferably in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record and skills in minor vehicle repair & maintenance.
·         Skills of driving motor cars, 4x4 vehicles etc.
·         Fluency of the local language of the duty station as well as proficiency in English is must.
·         No previous conviction of criminal offence.
·         Excellent knowledge of Islamabad & major cities across Pakistan.
