I. Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Electrical Engineering Coordinator and under the direct supervision of Electrical Engineer, the Junior Electrical Engineer will assist the field based teams in assessment, planning and implementation of electrical & solar projects in the Program.

II. Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

  1. Assist the field technical staff in assessment and implementation of electrical & solar components of infrastructure projects.
  2. Assist the field technical team in preparing drawings, designing and estimation of costs for electrical & solar components of grants.
  3. Participate in field monitoring of the electrical & solar components of infrastructure projects on regular basis.
  4. Supervise projects in coordination with government or local technical personnel and in collaboration with the program technicians and provide regular reporting regarding the status of projects.
  5. Assist and facilitate trainings and meetings for the capacity building of technical staff on electrification, solar & pumping systems.
  6. Perform other related duties as required.

III. Technical

  1.  Knowledge of Electrical Engineering;
  2. Ability to innovate and create solar system design.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  4. Natural ability to connect with other stakeholders and team members;

 

IV. Education and Experience

 

  1. Completed degree from an accredited academic institution, in Electrical Engineering;
  2. At least one year’s experience in solar related projects for candidates holding a first level university degree of Electrical Engineering.
  3. Experience working in an international, non-profit environment is an added advantage;
  4. Willing to travel and work in remote areas.
