General Scope of Work:

The Research Officer will be to initiate and implement field-based research for the LEAD Pakistan Programme and perform an overall coordination role at field level as well as the Head Office. The individual will primarily be responsible for planning, designing and executing surveys, project based research studies, special research projects and online surveys. The individual will be expected to provide key inputs for applied research based on outputs of various policy research initiatives of the Company. Fulfilling research requirements of other sections and providing key inputs to all organizational publications.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Contribute to all knowledge products in the capacity of lead writer, concept writer, reviewer, or as directed by Research and Information Manager.
  2. Ensure compliance with LEAD Pakistan’s Policies, Rules and Regulations in Research.
  3. Ensure the major deliverables are formally approved by Line Manager.
  4. Furnish the regular progress report to Line Manager.
  5. Be responsible for quality delivery of all intermediate and final outputs of the research related assignments.
  6. Ensure the proper hard/soft filing of all documents related to surveys, findings, and results.
  7. Identify and engage experts/teams for project related surveys and related research activities.
  8. Identify areas/topics for research, surveys, case studies, infographics and other periodic or adhoc publications related to the projects.
  9. Perform data analysis (both quantitative & qualitative) using up-to-date tools and methodologies.
  10. Contribute to report writing and ensure that all research output follows PSPC’s quality policy.
  11. Provide support to all other sections in identifying and fulfilling their research requirements.
  12. Regularly liaise with other sections for information sharing and knowledge management purposes.
  13. Coordinate with the Development Analysis Unit and Monitoring & Evaluation Unit for streamlining and implementing information collection methodologies in the field.
  14. Regularly coordinate with the Communications Unit for disseminating research publications to stakeholders and target audience in the form of surveys, case studies, and research reports.
  15. Coordinate with Training Unit for case study development for training purposes.
  16. Participate in project development activities, with the aim of developing a common understanding about project outcomes, activities, outputs, resources and methodology.
  17. Develop close working relationships with project participants and stakeholders in order to establish a shared vision and achieve project objectives.

Professional & Qualification Requirements:

  1. BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.
  2. Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst for at least 5 years involved in Primary data collection and handling.
  3. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques and surveys.
  4. Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
  5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.

The positions relate to a landmark project in Water in the Punjab Province.

All position required frequent travel between Islamabad & Lahore and Districts of Southern Punjab.
