General Scope of Work:

The External Communication Officer will work towards raising public awareness and knowledge of LEAD Pakistan Programme and promoting the profile of the programme and its work to the district, national and subnational level through media and designated sources. S/he would in particular be responsible for coordination of LEAD Pakistan Programme external communication operations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Be responsible for quality delivery of all outputs as per the communication, dissemination and branding strategies.
  2. To coordinate and execute 200 micro events across the target tehsils.
  3. To coordinate and engage with media in order to maximize the outreach of the information and plan dissemination modes including website.
  4. To oversee the preparation, printing and dissemination of documents (case studies, research reports/papers, Updates, newsletters, etc.).
  5. To ensure quality control in all communications related activities in line with organization’s corporate identity standards.
  6. To engage and monitor various e-dialogue forums, whenever required, and ensure active participation.
  7. To provide necessary support in workshops/seminars/conferences, policy/stakeholder dialogues arranged officially.
  8. To address the wide variety of information requests from stakeholders including the media and donors/programs/projects.
  9. To help provide key inputs in developing/refining external communication strategy.
  10. To implement a proactive and effective media relations programme to support the work of the PSPC Events team
  11. To play a key role in the development and execution of key communications campaigns, including company’s awareness events/activities.
  12.  To identify opportunities for proactive media work for profile raising to help secure a high-level of positive awareness.
  13. To play a key role in the delivery of the team’s media contact programme – regularly liaising with key journalists, as appropriate.
  14. To develop and maintain a keen level of awareness and interest in the national news agenda, keeping abreast of emerging issues and opportunities for media coverage

Professional & Qualification Requirements:

  1. Educated to Masters degree level, or equivalent in communications from a well reputed Institute.
  2. Experience in the relevant field for at least 5 years.
  3. Proven experience in communications tools
  4. A good grasp of media campaigns; web publication experience (preferably html or Content Management skills)
  5. Good interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise and communicate with colleagues at all levels of Organization.  
  6. Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative. Be able to design events and activities for awareness.
  7. Strong all round communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English, including editorial skills.
  8. To help prepare policies and guidelines and ensure compliance to the standards.

The positions relate to a landmark project in Water in the Punjab Province.

All position required frequent travel between Islamabad & Lahore and Districts of Southern Punjab.
