USAID/Pakistan recently awarded Louis Berger with a three (3) year Punjab Youth Workforce Development Project (PYWD) to work with at-risk youth in Multan, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur to secure gainful employment and play a positive role in their communities. The Program will facilitate employment opportunities for 10,000 youth (including 35% women) will implement the following activities: a) proactive community engagements to mobilize at-risk youth; b) institutional capacity building and re-tooling of over 22 public/private vocational training providers; c) co-opting of prospective potential private sector employers for trainee placement; d) career counseling services; as well as e) providing access to finance for youth entrepreneurs.

We are looking for Placement Coordinator reporting to Partnerships, Placement, Institutional Capacity Building Specialist and Regional Manager for identifying and strengthening the placement opportunities for trained youth under the PYWD project.

The Placement Coordinator’s specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Gather data from local businesses, industry, private sector organizations and other potential employers.
  2. Develop close liaison with representatives of local businesses, industry, private sector organizations and other potential employers
  3. Maintain rigorous liaison with Chamber of Commerce & Industries.
  4. Identification of needs for skilled workforce in mentioned sectors.
  5. Formalize the demands of skilled workforce from the employers and hiring commitments from the employers.
  6. Follow up and keep track of performance of skilled labor provided to the employers.
  7. Cultivate assosiations of employers with PYWD project partner training institutes.
  8. Any other task assigned by the Management.

 Qualifications:

  • Graduation, Masters degree shall be preffered.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated and proven track record in working with development sector specially with Chamber of Commerce & Industries and local businesses & industry.
  • Professional reading and writing skills in English and Urdu are required.
  • Local languages Punjabi and/or Saraiki, shall be preferred.
  • Possess strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
