Introduction
World Vision Pakistan is piloting an innovative project titled ‘Linking Preparedness, Response and Resilience in Emergency Contexts’ (LPRR) in Pakistan. WVP seeks a consultant to conduct a training on ‘Project Management and Leadership’ for its project team, consortium members, implementing partner and relevant staff, in February 2017, with a view to build the capacity of the consortium in both areas. The intended audience will be junior to mid level professionals working in the Humanitarian and Disaster Risk Reduction sector. The comprehensive training will be prepared after a review of the TNA conducted by WV in 2016 under this project.

Methodology
|
The resource person will conduct a 5 day workshop to build the capacity of consortium members/partners of WVP in the LPRR project on Leadership and Project Management, using a participatory and ‘learning by doing’ approach i.e. using participatory group work exercises. Training material will be developed by the resource person prior to the workshop in conjunction with WVP and based on the Training Needs Assessment conducted by WVP for the project last year. The resource person and team will also provide training reports and evaluation.

Objectives of the Training
LPRR aims to contribute to collaboration in the humanitarian sector, with the ultimate aim of improving humanitarian response. LPRR in Pakistan has actively engaged its consortium throughout the implementation of the project, and aims to contribute to improved humanitarian response through improved capacity of humanitarian workers. WVP in consultation with the project team has decided to engage a resource person to train its consortium partners and project staff on Leadership and Project Management. The objectives are
1) Build capacity of WV and partners on Leadership and Project Management
2) Strengthen relationships between consortium members and allow space for mutual exchange on resilience approaches
Training Output
It is expected that after participating in the trainings participants shall be able to;
• Demonstrate good understanding on Leadership and Project Management, particularly in the Pakistan context especially in DRR and Humanitarian sector
• Lead training workshop on Project Management in their respective organization/area
Methodology
The training will utilize a ‘participatory’ and ‘learning by doing approach’, using a mix of lectures, participatory exercises and any other visual/other media by the resource person. The training will be designed to last 5 days and will aim to familiarize the participants with practical guidance on Project Management and Leadership in the humanitarian response context.
The resource person will additionally lead the development of evaluation tools for the training such as pre and post test forms, as well as provide a training report.
Participants and training venue
The training will be arranged at a suitable venue by WVP, with an expected number of 25 participants. The participants will include the Project team from World Vision Pakistan, Implementing Partner staff, and Consortium Member organizations focal persons for this project.

Legal Framework
Intellectual Property of this assignment, where all information pertaining to this assignment (documentary, audio, digital, project documents, etc) belonging to the WVP, which the Consultancy firm may come into contact with in the performance of his/her, duties under this consultancy shall remain the property of the WVP who shall have exclusive rights over their use. Except for purposes of this assignment, the information shall not be disclosed to the public nor used in whatever without written permission of the WVP in line with the national and International Copyright Laws applicable.
In the event that there is non-performance, defective performance or late performance due to causes beyond control and occurring without fault or negligence, including without limitation, natural disasters (such as floods, earthquakes, fire), acts of any state or government, fire explosions, epidemics, quarantine restrictions, blackout, or embargoes, neither party will be held responsible. If the consultant fails to provide the services required hereunder as a result of above listed force majored and such failure continues for a period of 10 calendar days, WVI Pakistan
shall have the right to terminate this agreement without any further liability resulting from such termination. The consultants will be paid for all services satisfactorily performed and accomplished up to the date of termination as determined by WVI Pakistan.
This agreement shall be deemed terminated automatically without further liability or obligation of WVI Pakistan if the consultant, is adjudicated as bankrupt, petitions or consents to any relief under bankruptcy, reorganization, receivership, liquidation or similar arrangements or makes an assignment for the benefit of creditors.
Timeframe
The training will commence on 24th February 2017 and end on 10th March 2017 with the completion of all of the agreed upon deliverables. All final reports, presentations and other documentation to be submitted to World Vision Pakistan (WVP) upon termination of the contract period
Logistics
Boarding, lodging and transport of the consultant will arranged by WVP. Workshop logistics will be arranged in country by WVP, under the supervision of the consultant. be arranged by WVP.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Well versed with Leadership and Project Management, with 8 years and above experience in conducting similar trainings for NGO and INGO and Academic/corporate organizations,
- Proven ability and experience in leading and facilitating training workshops on multidisciplinary and multicultural teams;
- Multidisciplinary skills and the ability to communicate effectively;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Sensitivity to regional political, gender and cultural balance;
- A high standard of professionalism;
- Ability to engage in travel as the consultant may be required to travel to Pakistan;
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) with excellent drafting and communication skills.
