Terms of Reference: Enumerators for Trócaire’s Annual Programme Review (Challenging Gender Based Violence Programme)

Trócaire’s work in Pakistan focuses on four key areas: disaster risk reduction (DRR), preparing for and responding to humanitarians situations, challenging gender-based violence (GBV) and securing sustainable livelihoods. We currently work with 16 development partners and 3 humanitarian partners in Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Our partners encompass a diverse array of organisations with expertise in advocacy, community mobilisation, awareness raising, humanitarian response, service delivery, legal assistance and research.

1.      Scope of Work

Trócaire’s Challenging GBV programme aims to improve response services for survivors of GBV, to reduce tolerance towards GBV, and to strengthen GBV related laws and policies.  Each year Trócaire conducts an Annual Programme Review (APR) to track progress against the expected programme results.

We are looking for to engage eight data enumerators (4 male and 4 female) for one week to support us with this process during October & November 2016. The selected data enumerators will be responsible for conducting a survey to collect data for the APR (Annual Program Review) using tools developed by Trócaire. The programme districts to be visited will Swabi, Mardan, Noshehra, Swat and Peshawar (Khyber Pakhtunkwa) and Hyderabad, Mityari and Jamshoro (Sindh).  People from local area will be preferred who knows the context of KPK and Sindh.

2.      Expected Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GBV issues
  • Understanding of cultural context of Sindh and KP
  • 3-4 years’ experience of conducting surveys, assessment or evaluations on GBV/VAW related projects
  • 3-4 years’ experience working at grassroots’ level on VAW/GBV related projects;

Good communication and facilitation skills

  • Knowledge of Sindhi or Pushto language (desirable)
