IT/Network Consultant
Background
The U.S.-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development (AMD) is a USAID funded, four year project which aims to improve the ability of Pakistan’s commercial agriculture and livestock sectors to compete in international and national markets in the four target product lines; meat, high value and off season vegetables, mangoes and citrus. AMD will act as a catalyst for development and investment in target product lines by actively promoting cooperation and coordination amongst the value chain actors and ancillary service providers. AMD’s implementation strategy is underpinned by a strictly commercial and market driven approach with a clear focus on strengthening market access for its partner organizations, and support marketing and sales efforts, both nationally and internationally. The objective of the AMD project is to encourage investments in the four target product lines through matching grants and empower stakeholders by developing synergies among them to accomplish together what they cannot do alone. AMD will support upgrading, streamline supply chains, optimize profit margins, increase participation of women entrepreneurs, and ultimately help make Pakistani meat, high value and off season vegetables, mangoes and citrus more profitable and more competitive.
Objective
The IT/Network Consultant will be providing support to the AMD IT team in day to day IT related issues and maintain the existing Infrastructure. An important role of the IT/Network Consultant is to look after the Server/s and Internet and its Bandwidth. The IT/Network Consultant will report to the COP and IT In-charge in conjunction with CNFA HQ.
Expected Outcomes
The selected candidate will support the IT team in Server Management and Administration, Internet, Hardware/Software related Issues and day to day trouble-shootings if arise.
Proposed LOE and Period of Engagement:
TOTAL DAYS: 180 to begin on or about September 1st, 2016.
STTA Scope of Work for Technical Assistance
An IT/Network Consultant is required to support AMD IT Infrastructure and make changes in the existing environment to enhance the Infrastructure. Apply Network Policy and Install & Configure the Server to monitor the Bandwidth and Performance of the Internet and support in day to day level-1.
We are seeking a professional who can support in day to day IT related issues. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Manage all IT Helpdesk functions and organize responses so that all incoming ICT support calls are dealt with in a timely, systematic, and effective manner;
- Arrange to solve hardware, software, communication, and connectivity problems through first level and second level support to project staff;
- Installation, maintenance, problem-solving, and insuring continuous access to internet and network services.
- Perform computer data backups to insure that no data is lost or corrupted beyond repair.
- Perform software updates as needed.
- Make suggestions for improvement of project IT services.
- Proactively promote good practice in the use of IT hardware and software;
- Perform as assigned preventative maintenance and repair of various computer equipment, printers and peripherals; test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved; perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure user satisfaction and proper problem resolution;
- Update IT Inventory records as required.
- Any other task assigned.
Requirements/Skills
- Pakistani national;
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
- Graduate or Preference will be given to Microsoft Certified Candidate (MCSE/MCITP/MCP/CCNA/CCNP);
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience providing similar support, preferably in an international office environment;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe applications;
- Team player, with excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills in English, both written and oral. Excellent Urdu, with regional language capability desirable.
