WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week                             SALARY:                               PKR. 25,000 – 35,000      

 

This nonprofit humanitarian organization is seeking an eligible and qualified individual for the position of Program Assistant in Management Section at its Head Office Peshawar.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The general duty for a Program assistant is to help the director in searching funding opportunities funding ideas, plan and arrange meetings with donors. The Program Assistant works closely under the supervision of the director as well as meet periodically with filed staff and will have   responsibility for anticipating and meeting deadlines, analyzing and managing opportunities and risk, producing high-quality documents and graphic materials, maintaining records and welcoming feedback with the aim of continuous improvement and contribution to team performance. Investigates assigned program areas and develops a clear understanding of these areas; works with organization as needed to compile the data / reports required by the donors; keeps director informed of program-related activities; maintains close coordination with the organization program/projects staff

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. EDUCATION: Preferably Master’s degree in Development Studies, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field.

2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, with 3 years’ experience in job-specific relevant field. Strong involvement over several years in health, nutrition, education poverty issues; grassroots work experience.

If no Master degree, significant additional relevant experience will be considered.

 

3. LANGUAGE: (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking of English and Urdu is required.

4. KNOWLEDGE:  Managing different projects reporting in coordination with project managers and reporting to donor agencies.  

5. ABILITIES & SKILLS:

  • Strong quantitative planning skills – understanding project budget budgeting , program  development  process and activity planning
  • Ability to think critically, creatively, and in a sophisticated manner, and subsequently, to act with independence, dispatch and sharpness
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently as part of a fast-paced team
  • Deep knowledge of the cultural context of the city, country and relevant regions, to enable effective strategizing of new-programme development
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a complex team setting and independent
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and healthy sense of humor
  • Demonstrated judgment in managing information and relationships.
  • Proficiency in full set of MS Office applications
