2.0    POSITION OBJECTIVES

Implementing and maintaining effective and efficient Financial management of  JHG in Pakistan

3.0    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND TASKS

3.1    Core Responsibilities & Duties

  1. Review of petty cash vouchers of Islamabad and Karachi office and ensure smooth flow of funds
  2. Review of bank payment vouchers of Islamabad and Karachi office before payment
  3. Prepare monthly payroll and disburse salary on timely basis. Maintain regular log of in country salary payments and provide tax certificate to all staff at the end of each year and/or at the end of employment
  4. Ensure timely data entry into QuickBooks by finance offices
  5. Review of Purchase Requests for budget availability
  6. Withhold taxes from the employees & vendors and service providers according to the prevailing Govt. rates and deposit them into Govt. treasure on time
  7. Prepare General Sales Tax Exemption package for invoices above $500 and review Tax Exemption package of all partners and ensure GST tracking sheet
  8. Prepare bank and cash reconciliations on monthly basis
  9. Prepare final settlements of outgoing staff
  10. Assist preparation of monthly finance report and assist preparing monthly funding request
  11. Assist preparations of budget, modification and budget revision
  12. Provide quick-book and financial system trainings to all relevant staff.
  13. Preparation of journal vouchers and preparation of year-end and grant-end entries (if any)
  14. Visit all Sub-grantees offices for their financial review once every 6 months
  15. Review of monthly finance reports from Partners
  16. Maintain provident funds books
  17. Assist DFA in preparation of close out plan.
  18. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor and COP

3.2     Occasional Duties

  1. Act as a Director of Finance and Administration in the absence of DFA
  2. Travel to Karachi and the Sindh areas as and when required

Minimum Education

Bachelor degree in Finance

Work Experience

5-7 years

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and management skills in devising and implementing reporting systems
  • Excellent skills in Financial database QuickBooks and should be able to design and prepare financial reports on monthly quarterly and annual basis.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills, including skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access databases. Work experience in QuickBooks will be an important consideration.
  • Good knowledge of the internet, web-functionality and social media
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to respond tactfully and appropriately
  • Flexible in working hours and should be able to adhere to tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel outside the work areas
