Relevant Experience:

  • Master or equivalent in, management, social sciences/development or political science.
  • Five years of experience in the field of national cooperation, including at least two years in the field with different stakeholders, government and non –governmental organizations.
  • Computers: Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
  • Languages: English, Urdu and Pashto (This may be tested).
  • Diplomacy and interpersonal skills, analytical skills, sense of initiative, independence, professionalism and maturity.
  • Ability to work in harmony with staff of different geographic areas and cultures and interest in human resource management. 

 

Job Description:

  • Manage the flow of information to/from the Supervisor and other senior staff; identify priority matters that need to be urgently addressed by the Supervisor
  • Ensure inclusion of key organization’s information working in the  area  for all sectors, respecting their respective mandates and programme priorities

  • Compile and maintain a contact list of inter-agency focal points and agencies
  • Draft correspondence and ensure follow-up
  • Prepare background information for meetings to be attended by the Supervisor (i.e. agenda, information on the person/organization, information on the topic).
  • Assist the project managers  when necessary
  • Assist in ensuring appropriate coordination with all actors  (including national and international NGOs, and the UN agencies) through establishment/maintenance of appropriate sectorial coordination mechanisms, including working groups at the national and local level
  • Ensure appropriate links with national and local authorities, state institutions, local civil society and other relevant actors and ensure appropriate coordination and information exchange with them;
  • Identify geographical and thematic gaps in organization’s Coordination, and facilitate the appropriate response to those gaps
  • Provide stakeholders with regular reports
  • Perform regular field visits and take part in field/regional  coordination meetings
  • Accountability: mature and responsible; ability to operate in compliance with organizational rules and regulations. .
  • But not limited to the above, will perform other related duties as requires.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability and willingness to operate independently in austere, remote and potentially hazardous environments ( Bannu , Tank , North and South Waziristan) for protracted periods, involving physical hardship and little comfort, and including possible extensive travel within the area of operations; willingness to transfer to other duty stations within area of operations as may be necessary;
  • Planning and organizing: effective organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to manage a large volume of work in an efficient and timely manner; ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor (own) work; ability to work under pressure, with conflicting deadlines, and to handle multiple concurrent projects/activities communication with donor agencies
  • Teamwork and respect for diversity: ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries; ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and harmonious working relations in a multi-cultural, environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity and gender;
  • Integrity and professionalism: demonstrated expertise in area of specialty and ability to apply good judgment; personal initiative and ability to take ownership; willingness to accept wide responsibilities and ability to work independently under established procedures in a politically sensitive environment, while exercising ,impartiality and neutrality; ability to manage information objectively, accurately and confidentially; responsive and client-oriented.
