USAID’s Punjab Enabling Environment Project (PEEP) aims to improve the enabling environment in the agriculture sector of Punjab to promote private sector-led growth by focusing on the horticulture, livestock and dairy sub-sectors.

Job Description:

  • Assess the project’s sites for the development of Environmental Documentation Forms.
  • Visit sites and evaluate activities to collect the information required for the preparation of Environmental Mitigation Management Plans or other specialized environmental documents.
  • Prepare Environmental Documentation Forms for all new activities during the pre-award phase
  • Provide training to the project staff in environmental compliance and procedures.
  • Provide training material for implementers on environmental best practices and procedures.
  • Ensure that required environmental compliance documentation is prepared for all relevant project activities in the pre-award and post-award phase.
  • Support the development of mitigation strategies for activities that are already underway
  • Visit site activities to verify the implementation of the EMMPs.
  • Coordinate with the Monitoring and Evaluation, and Technical teams to integrate required environmental monitoring into the USAID PEEP’s M&E system, and integrate data collected into USAID PEEP’s reports and deliverables, as appropriate.
  • Assist the M&E Specialist in the implementation of the USAID PEEP’s M&E System by utilizing clearly defined objectives, activities, indicators, and results for each component in the implementation period.
  • Prepare environmental reports as instructed by the supervisor or respond to requests for information.
  • Travel extensively to all project locations to perform the duties described above.
  • Perform other monitoring and evaluation tasks as needed.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by COP or designee.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Post Graduate qualification will be preferred
  • At least five years of experience working in the environmental review and compliance field
    • Knowledge and experience of working with USAID’s Environmental Procedures
    • Fluency in both written and oral English required
