BACKGROUND: 

 

CRS Pakistan started its operations in 1954 and is working in areas of education, livilyhood , drought mitigation and also supports peace-building initiatives. Alongside this, CRS continues to work in the areas of emergency response, disaster preparedness and mitigation.

 

Core objective of this position and Administration Department is to ensure consistent availability of quality services to ensure timely and effective programming. This position is created to ensure that CRS logistic department and fleet system is managed properly, is cost efficient  and properly manner by following CRS policies and procedure

 

JOB SUMMARY:The Driver is responsible for providing logistical support to the CRS Staff, vehicals  and responsible/managing fild visits for staff of the CRS Islamabad office with continuous suprt to emergency and filed offices.

 
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
  • In coordination with Lead Driver and Admin manager Maintain and ensure availability of serviceable vehicles for operations at all times.
  • Drive any Agency vehicle assigned in a defensive manner at all time.
  • Ensure that all vehicle records are maintained in an accurate and retrievable fashion at all times in appropriate files.
  • Ensure that all log sheets are recorded in Vehicle management system (VMS) on daily basis
  • Ensure all vehicles are adequately and correctly fuelled at all times.
  • Ensure that regularly updated emergency documentation and Standard Operating Procedures are placed in each vehicle
  • Ensure that first aid boxes are maintained and secured in each CRS vehicle
  • Anyother duty assigned by supervisor , Admin Manager or Head of Operations
  • Ensure the safety of the CRS Vehicle and of all passanger sitting/traveling in the vehicle at all times
  • Provide surveillance and oversight of all CRS Vehicle ; notify the Supervisor of any suspicious activities or incidents occurs during travel/field visit and complete reports as required
  • Prevent traveling into the CRS Vehicle of any person not authorized by the management or that of any person who lacks proper identification; ensure that partners staff have prior approval from designate before traviling in CRS vehicale
  • Notify Supervisor and/or Admin Manager Immediately in the case of: road Accident or damage to person or property, or in any other situation with which the Driver on duty cannot cope alone
  • When there are no persons in the Vehicle, ensure all doors and windows are locked never leave Vehicle parked alone
  • Work with Administration on a Communication system of vehicle allocation for international staff use
  • Notify Supervisor in advance of any absence or forfeit the pay for the specific day and possibly face dismissal for unauthorized leave
  • To be engaged solely with CRS and no other employer during this contract period
  • Remain conscious and alert while  driving/visting field and immediately report to Lead driver/Admin Manager if feel or see any suspicious activity (if any vehicle is following/tracing) 
  • Take proper care of CRS Assets/vehicle . Under no circumstances can CRS or CRS staff property or items be used or accessed apart from those provide by CRS or CRS staff
  • Ensure that preventive maintenance on vehicles is carried out regularly and promptly at all times.
  • Liaise with designated workshops to ensure that vehicles are repaired in a timely manner and cost effectively.
  • Test drive vehicles from garages to ascertain quality of job done

  

Emergency Response:

As CRS/Pakistan responds to disaster situations, Driver may be called upon to support emergency operations. Willingness and flexibility to perform tasks other than described in this job description and work longer hours than normal as necessary to complete critical tasks is required.

Internal:  Lead Driver, Admin/Operation/Procurement department Staff, HR department, Finance Department, CR-HoP’s HOP, International Staff, Field office TDY’s,  

External:  Banks, rented vehicle vendors, CRS Partner Org staff,

Qualifications:

  • Matriculation
  • Five (5) years possession of a valid driving license
  • Must be computer literate: MS Word and Excel
  • Good knowledge of operations of the security services.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics.

  • Possess good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Possess initiative and ability to adapt and cope with pressure
