Purpose of Position

The major responsibility of the position holder will be to coordinate the World Vision Pakistan activities at the provincial level (Sind) while ensuring local, district and national levels multi-sectoral projects are linked and integrated into provincial engagement with a range of relevant government and non-government stakeholders. Specifically, the key function of this position is to identify and bring together through lobbying, networking, events, representation, and partnering with project stakeholders at provincial level. 

Major Activities

  • Contribute to the process of designing and subsequently implement the Provincial engagement strategy of WVP for Sind province.
  • Represent & introduce WVP to clusters, networks and forums aimed at building strategic partnerships, gathering information on government plans and priorities. Develop very good relations with the Government Line agencies and facilitate the process of formal engagements with government and other stakeholders at provincial level
  • Lead provincial level advocacy and media campaigns, seminars and awareness sessions by engaging all the relevant stakeholders at Provincial level
  • Develop private sector engagement strategy and identify partnership opportunities including resource mobilization with private sector.
  • Develop multi and bi-lateral donor strategy and identify partnership opportunities including resource mobilization and fund raising aligned with the WVP National Strategy.
  • Conduct market surveys to update NO with the upcoming collaborations and partnerships in both public and private so that WVP could pre-position in a timely manner with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports/updates for Project Manager (ENRICH) on issues of interest and to share the progress reports with other relevant Government departments(UN/govt/media/donors/parliamentarians/ INGO/NNGOs/community etc.
  • Review all program and project documents to ensure that principles of Red Cross Code of Conduct, SPHERE Standards, HAP-I standards and relevant WVI standards, strategies and policies are adhered to
  • Effectively engage the media and keep close coordination with national and other Area/provincial Project coordinators
  • Identification and timely communication of grey areas and challenges to management for improvement 
  • Any other task assigned by line manager as and when required as per organizational decisions and requirements

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Masters level education in project management, development studies, mass communication, Social work, sociology or a related social sciences subject from recognized or accredited University.
  • At least 5 years’ experience of managing a network at the provincial level in related field.
  • Excellent written English including the ability to edit, synthesize information and produce high quality reports.
  • Excellent organizational, influencing, negotiating and communication, coordination skills.
  • Ability to influence, lobby, dialogue and networking skills with government, NGOs at provincial as well as national level.
  • Excellent organizational, influencing, negotiating and communication, coordination skills.
  • Very good networking and relationships at provincial level in Karachi(Sind)
  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Fluent in English and Urdu. Knowledge of Sindi would be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of Human and Child Rights, different approaches of development. Good understanding of Gender and environment as well as god demonstrated understanding of different government Provincial Policies and Laws
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure, priorities and meet deadlines
  • Understands and values diversity and maximizes diversity to achieve organizational goals
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to the needs of the organization
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Ability to operate in administratively self-serviced environment

  • Knowledge of working cultures in government, semi-government and private sector will be an asset
