Job description of Project Officer

 Job Summary:

Project Officer (PO) Position is the lead role in implementation of the project. The PO will manage day to day activities of the project and will lead project team. The PO will be responsible for managing project activities, project budget and also coordinate with external stakeholders for smooth implementation of the project. Project Officer will represent Organisation in meetings with donor, government officials and other line agencies.

Duties and responsibilities:

Under supervision of Organisation, President:

Project Management:

  • Project Officer (PO) is responsible to implement the project activities in close coordination with project participant
  • Prepare monthly and weekly work plan
  • Manage project budget and inform Organisation executive committee and Project Management committee of any under or over spending of budget
  • Manage and supervise project activities through project life cycle
  • Interact with project funding NGO to develop understanding of key deliverables of projects
  • Represent Organisation in monthly progress review meeting with funding NGO
  • Provide phasing and scheduling of project
  • Participate in development of project regarding program activities
  • Participate in the development and issuance of project procedures.
  • To coordinate and ensure timely completion of reports.
  • To provide input to Organisation management and Project Management Committee regarding project performance and status.
  • To help facilitate project-related meetings, including devising of agendas.
  • To actively manage project reports to ensure reports are delivered within time.
  • To document activities and report to communicate project findings and activities
  • Ensure to implement child safeguarding/protection policy and Code of Conduct of Organisation.
  • To operate within organizational policies and practices.
  • To provide technical and management support to project team
  • Develop monthly expense forecast and submit to Finance department for smooth implementation.
  • Any other task assigned by Organisation President

Staff Management:

  • Line mange Assistant Project Officer and guide position holder to perform project activities
  • Approve work plan of Assistant Project Officer
  • Carry out performance appraisal of Assistant Project Officer (APO)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master degree in social sciences or any relevant field
  • Working knowledge of computers and software’s (MS Word, MS Excel) is must
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu knowledge of Pashto is an asset.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the similar position in national or International Organizations.
  • Should know all the basics of community mobilization
  • Knowledge of and working with children/persons will disabilities will be an added advantage.
