Project Description:

CNFA is currently seeking a Communications Specialist for the United States – Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development (AMD) program in Pakistan. This program will aim to create productive commercial linkages between agricultural producers and the private sector in the mango, citrus, halal meat, and high-value off-season vegetable value chains.

Position Summary:

This position will be based in Lahore and is open to Pakistani nationals onlyPrefer candidate to be from Lahore area.

The Environmental Officer under the guidance and supervision of Environmental Specialist will support for all the matters related to Environmental Compliance.

 The purpose of hiring the Environmental Officer is strengthening the technical expertise of AMD for compliance to Environmental requirements of USAID and Government of Pakistan.

 The Environmental Officer will be assisting Environmental Specialist through: 

  • Site Specific Initial Environmental Surveys/Screening as and when required by Environmental Specialist
  • Recording GPS Locations and photographs of the grantee sites and all places
  • When required visit the grantee sites and assess Environmental situation of the site as per provided template
  • Record observations and develop recommendations and communicate the same to Environmental Specialist for finalization of Environmental documents
  • If assigned by the Environmental Specialist conduct orientation and training of the beneficiaries on environmental compliance, mitigation and monitoring
  • Conduct monitoring as per Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring Plan and report to the Environmental Specialist

 

Minimum Qualification:

Masters in Environmental Science/Management with 2 years of experience in the relevant field. Educational qualification in Environmental Law (although not compulsory) will be an added advantage.

  • Pakistani national;
  • Prefer for candidate to be from Lahore area;
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience providing similar support, preferably in an international office environment;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe applications;
  • Ability to work well in diverse teams but also productive working individually with minimum supervision;
  • Prior USAID or other international donor experience preferred;
  • Fluency in English required;
  • Fluency in Urdu preferred.
