POSITION OBJECTIVES
|
Research Associates are part of research team that would deliver on research and policy outreach agenda developed to generate robust evidence on gender thematic areas. They would also play a vital role in analyzing and synthesizing primary and secondary data collected (for their theme) from annual midline surveys, perception surveys and Monitoring and evaluation exercises.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND TASKS
|
Core Responsibilities & Duties
|
- Be part of team to deliver on research and policy outreach program in gender research themes. Undertake original research around Gender theme within the overall research program.
- Will be responsible for quantitative and qualitative analysis of primary and secondary data collected (for their theme) from annual midline surveys, perception surveys and Monitoring and evaluation exercises.
- Conduct background research, preparing initial research reports, and synthesizing primary and secondary data.
- Facilitate in organizing Gender related research conferences, workshops, seminars, and other forms of the dissemination of the research output of the Institute under the supervision of Supervisor.
- Coordinate and network with other researchers working on this area from within or outside the Institute, and for this purpose organize planning meetings. Compile working papers, project reports and policy briefs.
- Assist fellows in preparation and submission of project proposals to various partner agencies
- Help team in responding to requests for policy advice from public and private sector.
- Occasionally provide support to SDPI Centre for Capacity Building by delivering relevant trainings.
- Represent SDPI at national or international seminars, conferences, workshops, symposia, and various policy making foras.
- Help in soliciting funds to support his/her research programs.
- Contribute in electronic, social and print media on issues around empowerment of marginalized segments of society including women, youth and religiously marginalized communities; improved social services delivery; and conflict resolution.
- Publish at least 2 peer-reviewed papers annually in internationally recognized journals.
- Contribute to the weekly seminar series as a participant as required.
- Help the fellows in responding to requests for policy advice from the public and private sector in the area of expertise.
