Pakistan Reading Project will improve the quality of reading in public and private schools across all of Pakistan; supporting at least 1.3 million primary school students to read at all level commensurate with standards at their grade level by the three mutually reinforcing components of teacher education and professional development, systems reform and civil society engagement.

Job Description:

  • Assist in reviewing current education policies at National / Provincial level
  • Assist in preparing component work plans to support provincial authorities and HEC in developing teacher education strategies, materials, certifications, teacher mapping and capacity building of teacher
  • Organize dialogue among stakeholders of the project including Govt. counterparts to identify any possible revisions needed in the current policy
  • Coordinate with Provincial Education Departments to establish Provincial Technical Steering Committee, assist in organizing meetings
  • Support relevant forums and bodies in order to prepare recommendations for policy change
  • Facilitate proceedings of meetings of relevant forums, committees or bodies
  • Facilitate dissemination of recommendations prepared to appropriate authorities
  • Assist Policy and System Coordinator in preparing work plans and monthly event calendars
  • Collect relevant data and prepare progress reports for ‘Policy and System Component'
  • Support respective Department of Education to develop / strengthen HRIS and EMIS for better decision-making at Provincial and District level 
  • Represent the project at various meetings / forums as assigned

Education:

  • Master’s in Education / Social Science from a recognized University

Experience:

Minimum 03 years of relevant experience preferably in an INGO

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of HRIS and EMIS systems
  • Knowledge of Pakistani education system both at national and provincial level
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work under pressure with colleagues, consultants, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
  • Good organizational and public relation skills
  • Experience in working with USAID funded projects desirable
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills in English and Urdu. Knowledge of local language preferred
