Position: Library Coordinator

Duty Station: Matta, Swat

Duration: 11 month

 

Position Summary:

 

Under the supervision of Project Coordinator & technical support provided Education Expert the Library Coordinator will be responsible for the monitoring & implementation of PSLI’s activities in respective cluster of schools.  Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to; establishment and maintenance of library spaces, monitoring of library lesson/period , utilization library books and provision of technical support to the school staff.

 

Major Responsibilities

Library Follow-Up & coordination (80%)

 

•              Follow up with schools to ensure management of library resources as per PSLI instructions

•              Ensure students having access to library resources and circulation of library books is taking place regularly at libraries

•              Coordinate with schools to provide community access to library resources (depends upon feasibility)

•              Follow up with schools to ensures healthy and pleasant reading environment at library spaces

•              Identify gaps and suggests viable solutions/options

•              Coordinate with schools to implement reading activities 

•              Follow up with schools to ensures efficient utilization of library period & resources

•              Performs follow up visits to school as per monthly plans and report findings

  • Coordinate and follow-up with project team for planning and implementation of project activities
  • Coordinate and follow-up for teachers training including nominations of teachers, venue arrangements, training material and reporting 
    • Technical support to the school staff for proper display of books, library period and books circulation  
    • Prepares periodic reports on project activities
    • Additional tasks under project intervention    

 

Education and Experience: Master's degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in school education

Sociable, flexible and problem solver                                                                                                                                              Prior experience of and an ability to work in rural education context is highly desirable                                                           Understanding of library & reading activities (Desirable)                                                                                                          Monitoring  & implementation of  library & reading activities                                                                                                             Ability to use online communication tools                                                                                                                                            Excellent MS-office skills                                                                                                                                                                   Good communication and report writing skills in English
