Terms of Reference for IT Consultant

• Work under the supervision of IT Work Stream Leader for implementation of hardware,        software and network as per the timelines communicated through the Project Plan
• Maintenance of IT hardware, software and network.
• Running a service desk for day-to-day support and maintenance processes of Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration management and Release Management
• Prepare IT Documentation according to the project plan and as directed by IT Work Stream Leader/Director IT
• Provide incident management support through initial support, Investigation and diagnosis, resolution and recovery, incident closure and Ownership, monitoring tracking and communication
• Installing, configuring and troubleshoot operating systems like Windows, Linux/Unix
• Work independently and with team members and vendors to troubleshoot issues.

Skills

• Excellent knowledge of HP ProLiant based server hardware and rack deployment.
• Excellent knowledge of Windows 2003/2003-R2/2008 server and client operating system technologies
• Excellent knowledge of SNMP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, SMTP, VOIP NAT and network related technologies such as LAN/WAN topologies
• Strong understanding, management and configuration of network equipment such as routers and switches
• Excellent knowledge of system and network management tool concepts
• Accomplishes task with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education/Experience

• Minimum qualification is Bachelors in Computer Sciences
• Experience of working with Government setups in IT Departments
• Minimum experience of 4-6 years.
