Position Purpose

HelpAge International implementing German government funded project “Building Disaster resilience; improve livelihood and health condition of disaster affected population of Muzaffargarh District of Punjab Pakistan. The project is focused on three main programmes i.e. health, livelihood and DRR”.

Under this project 50 community Support Groups-CSGs will be formed which will have representation of all vulnerable groups from the community i.e. older people, People With Disabilities-PWDs, widows, orphans and other vulnerable etc. as the project progress the groups will be engaged in different resilient livelihood trainings including kitchen gardening, poultry farming, agri and livestock and micro-enterprises and savings.

Key Responsibilities:

 The Person for this position will be responsible for the development of training material on resilient livelihood options for communities with special focus on most vulnerable groups. The person will also develop IEC material on utilisation of Cash for productive work. S/he will develop schedule of the trainings in communities, delivering trainings in the communities and document the whole process. The person will also be responsible for coordination with the relevant stakeholders.

Specific duties and responsibilities


Development of Training material

 Will develop training material (manual, IEC material) after anlaysing the available training material on resilient livelihoods and productive utilization of Cash.

 Planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the livelihood  activities of the project

 

  • Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities related to resilient livelihood as mentioned in the project document,
  • Ensure effective and timely implementation of the planned and approved activities and strategies
  • Will develop and implement the complete cycle of trainings on livelihood
  • Responsible for preparation of training budgets, pre-post-tests of training evaluation, Sex, Age and Disability Disaggregated Data-SADDD databases.
  • Responsible for preparation of reports clearly indicating the inclusion of OPs, PWDs, women, orphans and other vulnerable groups in the livelihood activities.

 Coordination and communication

  • Assist Project Coordinator to establish close coordination and cooperation with district line agencies and authorities like agriculture, livestock and TEVTA etc, communities, project beneficiaries and other stakeholders at district level
  • Link the trained people with line ministries and departments for further help and utilization of their skills
  • Coordinate and link the most vulnerable beneficiaries with Pakistan Baitul Mal & BISP.

Other responsibilities

The Trainer- Livelihood may be taking other responsibilities of the project upon the need as suggested by the Project Coordinator in consultation with management.

Required qualifications and experience

  • Master’s degree in Rural development, Agriculture, , business development or other related field with in depth understanding of rural poverty and vulnerability issues in Pakistan and in south Punjab. 
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • experience of development of training material and conducting training on resilient livelihood
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in team and network with partners,
  • Excellent writing skills,
  • Excellent skills in computer (Word processing and data base software.)
