Pakistan Reading Project will improve the quality of reading in public and private schools across all of Pakistan; supporting at least 2.5 million additional primary school students to read at all level commensurate with standards at their grade level by the three mutually reinforcing components of teacher education and professional development, systems reform and civil society engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction Technical Director (Policy) and Technical Coordinator, lead and coordinate the work of the IMS advisor, Assessment Manager, and the Policy & Systems Officers to achieve the objectives of the project.
  • Liaison with the Regional Govt. Officials and other stake holders to implement PRP activities of the LOP under Policy component, and facilitate its integration in main Education system of the Regional govt.
  • Organize Regional Advisory and Steering Committee’s meeting on quarterly or need basis for Technical input from the provincial advisory committee, and the policy approval from the steering committee.
  • Support the provincial field office in preparation of Annual work plan and also in preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Facilitate the promotion of Public Private Partnership in education
  • Assist the Regional govt. in under taking the need analysis in apex institution responsible for CPD, FEAS and other as and when required by the project. Assist in developing the strategic plan for CPD or improving the assessment system especially with in the frame work of PRP.
  • Work with Regional research institutes if any, to undertake research studies for pertaining to Reading Reforms
  • Assist the Regional Govt. in implementing and monitoring of policy elements, approved by the Regional Govt.
  • Perform any other task related to Policy component deemed necessary for achieving PRP objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree, preferably in Education with specialization in Policy making/ Public Administration or a Social Science from a recognized university

EXPERIENCES:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership position responsible for developing educational policy frameworks, planning, management and implementing educational programs at National/Provincial level, preferably in the government.
  • Demonstrated experience working with government agencies, actors, and other stakeholders at the national, provincial, and district levels
  • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Experience in working with USAID-funded projects desirable;

SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated computer literacy (strong MS Office skills), and knowledge about EMIS and data-based decision-making, etc.   
  • Good report writing skills.
