Job Overview

Senior Engineer Satellite-II Malachh Islamabad is responsible for the O&M of iDirect DVB-S2 System, G.C.E system, NMSs, STD TV, HDTV, DRS repeater Bharakahu. There are 3 carriers of International connectivity and nearly 50 CXR of different CMOs, PTCL land line and WLL working between Malachh Earth Station and remote stations located across the country.

Main Responsibilities

Ensuring:

• Implement proactive measures to ensure fault free services  to the valued customers to achieve the availability of GCE / iDirect  system.
• Routine inspection / maintenance of stores, fire fighting and security sub system.
• Efficient utilization of available spares / stores and its timely forecast for procurement.
• Coordination/ liaison with OFS / PIE / NOCs / SCO, PTV, CMOs etc for trouble shooting, commissioning of various  satellite links.
• Coordinate with INTELSAT/ foreign Earth Station/ DOMSAT Stations/VSAT Stations for line ups/ carrier activation/ deactivation and commissioning.
• Installation, acceptance testing, commissioning of new systems at Satellite Earth Station Malachh and DOMSAT Gilgit and Skardu under CAPEX.

Network Planning:

• Initiate plans for expansion, up gradation and replacement of  iDirect / vsat network .
• Planning of satellite links for provision of connectivity to valued customer.
• To plan contingency plans in case of Satellite / OFC /DRS failure.
• Planning & forecasting for the replacement of old equipment/ Up gradation/ spares.

Quality Assurance:

• Assure and optimize network quality by upgrading it according to market standards.

Manage Network and Centers:

• Manage PTCL satellite communication network with the help of NMS.

Performance Management:

• Monitor and evaluate reporting employees through goal setting and objectives

Education:

• B. Sc (Electrical Engineering).

Expertise:

• Extensive experience in: Satellite / vsat / Earth Stations
• iDirect Hub and remotes O&M
• IP based networking.
