Value Chain Director – Agricultural Market Development (AMD)

Project Description:

CNFA is currently seeking a Value Chain Director for the USAID-funded Agricultural Market Development (AMD) program in Pakistan. This program will aim to create productive commercial linkages between agricultural producers and the private sector in the mango, citrus, halal meat, and high-value off-season vegetable value chains.

 

Position Summary:

This position will be based in Lahore. CNFA is seeking applications from qualified Value Chain Director Candidates for the USAID-funded Agricultural Market Development (AMD) program in Pakistan. The Value Chain Director’s main focus will be developing, implementing and monitoring activities to increase positive impact throughout AMD’s four value chains. You will be supporting the value chain specialists in their day-to-day work while maintaining oversight. Specific duties include:

  • Provide strategic vision, leadership and technical assistance in improving the overall performance and inclusiveness of the AMD value chains;
  • Develop and roll out strategy and set out and monitor key performance indicators;
  • Responsible for financial and operational planning of programs along the target value chains;
  • Lead, manage and develop the value chain specialists that are working on AMD’s four value chains, including work, planning, data collection and analysis.

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Pakistani National;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business management or relevant field is required, Masters’ degree preferred;
  • At least 5-10 years working experience in supply/value chain management or similar relevant experience within the agriculture sector;
  • Experience working with USAID and international donors required;
  • Previous project work experience in South Asia required, previous experience in Pakistan highly desirable;
  • You have strong management and interpersonal skills with proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary international teams;
  • Fluency in English is required;
  • Fluency in Urdu is preferred.
