Project Summary: 

In May 2015, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a five-year contract to Management Systems International (MSI) to provide performance management support to USAID-sponsored development programs throughout Pakistan. The Performance Management Support Contract (PERFORM) will serve as a centralized management support mechanism supporting USAID/Pakistan’s mission to increase stability, democracy, and prosperity for the men and women of Pakistan through the implementation of the Mission Strategic Framework (MSF). PERFORM will provide  data and information to help project managers improve project results through better implementation and design, as well as services that support the Mission’s learning and adaptive process, enabling it to better target its programming and achieve its goals and objectives. The performance components will include: (1) Monitoring Services; (2) Evaluation Services; (3) Assessment Services; and (4) Learning Support Services.

 

Position Summary: 

PERFORM is recruiting for the position of IT Help Desk Officer. The selected candidate under the guidance of MIS/GIS Lead will serve as technical hardware / Software assistance and support to the project staff. S/he will respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, and determine and implement solutions. 

This is a full-time position based in Islamabad, Pakistan; with limited travel to field offices as needed. It is expected to begin immediately and continue through April 2020. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the troubleshooting and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Responsible for the setup and configuration of computers with the required software for new users.
  • Responsible for performing backups of workstations.
  • Responsible for any physical work related to the computers’ hardware issues and moving workstations to another location.
  • Support System/Network Administrator in Implementation of Systems and IT Policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining helpdesk support ticketing system.
  • Contribute to ensuring that the systems and software are kept up to date and messages are passed on and feedback received promptly
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation.
  • Responsible in the compilation and maintenance of IT inventory of hardware and software.
  • Provide training to clients in the use of system and applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS IT/CS (4 Years preferable)
  • 2 years’ experience in relevant area.
  • Required skills with MS Office 2010. Should be good in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to produce high quality work under deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments.
